The Value Balancing Alliance is a group of international companies such as SAP, BMW, Michelin and many more, developing a standardized way to measure and compare the value contributed by business to society, the economy, and the environment. Headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, the VBA is supported by the large accounting firms (Big4), international organizations such as the OECD, the EU, key sustainability reporting standard setters, and prestigious academic institutions.

Our pioneering work aims to establish a uniform, internationally recognized valuation methodology for calculating reliable sustainability metrics. This non-financial impact measurement and valuation (IMV) method, also known as impact accounting, would be integrated into corporate accounting systems, supplementing, and further developing existing ESG reporting methods.

Working Student (m/f/d) – Board Office & Office Management
(m/f/d) (Werkstudent)

 

As a Working Student (m/f/d) – Board Office you support our Executive Committee and the CEO office team in their daily administrative and operational tasks, in communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will take over own responsibilities to ensure a smooth running of our day-to-day business including the coordination of strategic business travels, planning, and attending of workshops with our members and partners, preparation of presentations and on-demand tasks for our Executive Committee, and supporting our events team.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing PowerPoint presentations and other deliverables for management in close coordination with our Marketing, Finance and Sales teams
  • Business modelling using Excel
  • Office organization and general administrative tasks
  • Meeting and workshop coordination, preparation, taking minutes, and follow-up.
  • Organization of business trips
  • Supporting management in organizational and day-to-day business tasks
  • Preparation of documentation, presentations, and statistics
  • Handling internal and external correspondence in German and English.

 

What you need to be successful

  • You are enrolled in university studies and have at least one semester until your graduation.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel and Power Point, combined with your analytical thinking and collaborative problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure complex matters.
  • You’re excited about people, culture and communication as well as working with an international team.
  • You are seeking for constant improvement of processes and the office environment.
  • You’re ambitious about your professional and personal growth.
  • Fluent in German (C1) and English, spoken and written.

Contract and duration

Please note that this is a Werkstudent (working student) position according to German law. Candidates must be enrolled in a university, have statutory social security and health insurance, and have a permanent residence in Germany. Ideally, you’d be able to stay with us for at least 6-12 months.

 

Place of work

Ideally, candidates will work in our office in central Frankfurt am Main, while flexibility around remote work will be discussed on an individual basis.
